Fantasy Ball Games Hotel Index

About this index

What Fantasy Ball Games is, how entries are written, and what it deliberately leaves out.

Fantasy Ball Games is a written index of hotels. It exists because hotel information online is overwhelmingly sorted by destination and ranked by score, and neither of those helps much when what you are actually curious about is a kind of building.

So the site is organised into four sections, and only four: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. Sixteen properties in total, four in each. Every entry is a paragraph of prose describing what the hotel is and how it works, followed by a short row of plain facts.

What this site does not do

There are no prices, no availability, no booking forms and no affiliate links. There are no star ratings, no review scores and no user reviews — invented or otherwise. Nothing here is ranked against anything else; the order within each section carries no meaning.

How entries are written

Descriptions stick to general, durable characteristics: how a building came to exist, what it is organised around, what facilities define it. Anything that changes week to week, or that would require a citation to state responsibly, has been left out rather than approximated.

Geography

The index is deliberately geography-neutral. It is not written from any one country's point of view and it does not present itself as a local guide. Properties are located where they are because that is where that kind of hotel is built.
